The Barnsley and district branch of Parkinson’s UK is the local source of help, support and advice for people with, or affected by Parkinson’s.

This is what we offer    

• Monthly meetings which provide information, entertainment and opportunities for  mutual support.  

• We publish a quarterly newsletter  

• Exercise: We hold two classes each week with programmes specially designed for people with Parkinson’s and known to help slow down symptoms.   

• Help for Carers: We offer a limited amount of respite care in the home.   

• Counselling: We can arrange confidential one to one help.   

• Transport: We can arrange help for members to get to meetings and activities.

All our activities described above are available free to any Barnsley resident with a clinical diagnosis of Parkinson’s or Parkinsonism.

We have just come through a very difficult 18 months during which virtually all our sources of income have been cut off. We’ve set up a Just Giving page to allow you to help in getting our comprehensive programme kick started to full working order as soon as possible.
