York Inflatable 5k Team OSCAR's · 18 June 2022 ·

OSCAR's PBTC was set up in memory of Oscar Hughes, a 9-year-old who died of a brain tumour in 2014. His journey was heartbreaking yet inspiring. OSCAR's aims to provide support and care to children with brain tumours, raise awareness to help diagnosis and fund research into better treatments.

Story

We are supporting a local charity which was set up in memory of Oscar Hughes, a local child who died of a brain tumour.

OSCAR's PBTC works to provide support and care for children facing brain tumours, raising awareness of the disease and funding research for better treatment for children.

All 4 of us are hoping to raise awareness support for OSCAR's by completing a 5k inflatable obstacle course - the world's largest!

We're going to have to clamber over/under/through 32 obstacles - see here for more details of the event: https://www.ukrunningevents.co.uk/events/inflatable-5k/inflatable-5k-obstacle-run-york-yorkshire-18th-june-2022

We're hoping Benji won't need too much carrying! The minimum age for the course is 5 and he'll only be 2 weeks past his fifth birthday, eek!

Given he struggles to walk to school without moaning we're going to need all the motivation/support we can get!

So feel free to donate extra to him and Evelyn for motivation. :)

MATCHED DONATIONS! This Justgiving page is part of Chris's work team page ('YHEC for OSCARs 2022' - see the link above). At the end of 2022 YHEC is generously matching the first £5,000 raised to OSCAR's, so at this point all sponsors on our 5k inflatable challenge  page will be matched!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Thank you,

Benji, Evelyn, Joanne and Chris
