On the 12th March 2017, a group of Alice's close family and friends will be running the Bath Half Marathon.

Alice Byron was an incredibly special person to her family, friends and even those who only knew her through her phenomenally-written blog. She showed an unrelenting determination when she completed her university degree whilst undertaking Chemotherapy, exceptionally achieving a high 2:1, and worked tirelessly in her efforts to raise awareness of her condition; not only through the words on her blog, which inspired hundreds of people over all different generations, but also through joining her local university 'Marrow Group', where she encouraged many others to sign up to the Bone Marrow Register. Over this past 12 months, she has been responsible for hundreds of new potential donors signing up to the register and thousands of pounds donated to Anthony Nolan in her name, allowing them to continue their great work.

Of those of us running, most have never run more than 2 miles without getting a stitch, and this exercise business is more foreign concept than routine. Despite this, if we can even scratch the surface of the impact Alice made in a few short months by this one act, every painful mile will be worth every life that is saved through Anthony Nolan's ongoing work. Anything you donate will go straight to a charity that is not only passionate about its care for those diagnosed with Blood Cancer, but supports every single individual through their hardest moments, ensuring that they never feel alone in their fight.

So next year, we run for ourselves, for Anthony Nolan, and for Alice.

For those of you who are keen to do something different as well as/in lieu of donating, our group is not exclusive. We want to make as big an impact on the day as we can and get ourselves the attention she deserves. with that in mind; 

Join us on the day, wear the T-shirt with us and run in Alice's memory.
