Story

Hello everyone,

Im Bea, I have ADHD, Autism, Tourettes syndrome and FND which has put me in a wheelchair. I volunteer for the most amazing charity called TIC!

Last year we did North West Tough Mudder 15k, Team TIC managed to get me around the full 15k in my wheelchair, and I managed 7 out of 30 obstacles.

Well... this year... we are doing it all again!! But... there is a difference... instead of the TIC Team pushing me, Im privileged enough to have a full team of Tough Mudder ambassadors joining us to not only get me around in my wheelchair... but also to help me through ALL 30 obstacles!!! This is with the help of 12 people experienced in helping people like me achieve Tough Mudders. They will be puling my wheelchair with ropes around the course, and helping me through obstacles with me in a harness so I can use my arms to pull myself through while they take the weight of my legs.

This is going to be VERY hard work for my upper body, but also for the team getting me through this.

Im raising for TIC, for those that don't know, TIC is a Tourettes Charity that support so many people with Tourettes, tic disorders, and other neurodiverse brains!

TIC have been life saving to me since my diagnosis, and since my health declined and I had to stop working, they have kept me going as a charity allowing me volunteering opportunities to keep me going alongside giving me the most incredible support.

This year I am 5 years clean from drugs, as well as celebrating 9 years of me living as my true authentic self. The acceptance I have found in the community has been nothing short of outstanding, so by donating you are not only supporting an incredible charity, you are also helping me achieve my dreams of giving back to a community that has done so much for me.

My partner thinks i'm mad.. so help me raise money to make the stress of this that I put on her even more worthwhile!

If you got to the end of this, you deserve a medal! Thank you for visiting my page, if you donated thank you even more, and if you could share this around I would be so grateful.

Love and peace to all, Bea.

TIC (Tourettes-Syndrome Inclusion in the Community) supports people in Hull and Yorkshire who are affected by Tourettes Syndrome. Tourettes Syndrome is a neurological condition that affects 1 in 100 school children and is lifelong. we provide support groups for our members, and deliver awareness talks to schools and other organisations. we aim to reduce social exclusion and stigma associated with the condition locally. We have only being running for a little over a year but aim to provide future workshops and training in order to promote self-help.
