At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever.Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice. I’ll be taking on this challenge to raise money for this amazing charity because my Dad has Fronto-temporal Dementia. This greatly affects his memory, physical movement and his behaviour. Unfortunately, he has become a shadow of his former self and the nature of this disease means that we will never get ‘him’ back; appreciating every moment and going with the flow of each day has become our family’s coping mechanism. His deterioration is clear to see almost every day in one way or another. The fact that there is no cure for dementia is devastating. This challenge is therefore my way of giving a tiny bit back and showing my support to this charity and the amazing work they do for sufferers, as well as their families. Any donation, however big or small, would be so greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for your support! 💜💙
