This January we lost an amazing part of our family due to a rare form of cancer. Ryan was so brave and strong through his battle even though it was a tough one. 

Ryan had been suffering from pains in his shoulder and neck for months. Hed been back and to to the doctors and kept getting told it was nothing but a trapped nerve and just a week before his diagnosis he had been taken to hospital in an ambulance in so much pain for them to say 'your wasting our time go home and take pain killers'. We only found out the name to Ryans cancer after he had died. He had myeopithelial carcinoma an aggressive rare cancer. He'd been suffering with this pain for about 18 months before he was diagnosed the day after his 19th birthday and had a large tumour on his neck which limited his movement. He carried on with his life as best he could, didnt let it bring him down he was the life and soul even though sometimes the pain would be too much and he would have to go into hospital.

Thanks to The Teenage Cancer Trust Ryan was looked after amazingly whilst in hospital. The nurses on the TYA ward at Clatterbridge made a difficult time that tiny bit easier for him, be it help he recieved at hospital or support for him at home. They where so nice to him when he had to stay in. On the ward they would have little buffetts and watch films they have xboxs and sky for the kids to watch. He was back and to to clatterbridge for 6 months whilst he had two types of chemo. He finished his last chemo in November and was due to start radiotherapy in January.

On 2nd of January Ryan woke up paralised from the waist down. His tumour had spread down his spine putting so much pressure on his spine that the effects would be life changing for Ryan. He would never walk again. We found out on sunday 3rd that Ryan had only weeks to live. 

We spent as much time as we could that week with Ryan. He was so brave. We are so proud of him. The hospital gave us access to a family room so we could stay at the hospital to be near Ryan. They brought us pizzas into his room,chocolates, Dvds helping us make as many last memories as we could while we still had our star with us. We made a tree of handprints on his wall so he could see all the people who had been to see him, and loved him. We drew round his hand on some paper and put it at the top. It was such a hard week, the hardest of my life but I would not of missed it for anything.

Then on Friday 8th Jan we sat with Ryan as the nurses kept saying it wont be long he fought for hours and at 6.15pm he became our star in the sky ♡ Thats how quick his cancer took over but he gave it the fight of his life. He left behind two gorgeous little girls and endless people that love and miss him so so much. 

Ryan is an absolute inspiration and thats why we have decided to try and raise as much money as we can for this fantastic charity so they can continue to help others as they did for our Ry and our family. Even if we only raise enough for them to do for one family half of what they did for us we will be happy because we know how much it means.

On 7th of May an all girl group of family and friends of Ryan will be doing a 5K charity mud run in Warrington in Ryans name.

And Ryan we love you very much and miss you like you'll never know! You can have a good laugh watching us struggle to the finish line! But it will be easy compared to your battle. And in your words this is gunna be sick!!  love you forever xx
