What is it?
40 mile walk in the Yorkshire Dales for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust
What is CF?
Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a life-limiting genetic condition affecting more than 10,000 people across the UK. It affects the lungs and digestive system and can cause chronic infections and reduced lung function. Currently, half of those with CF will not live past age 41. The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is fighting for a brighter future for people with CF and their families by funding cutting-edge research, driving up standards of care and supporting people with the condition and their loved ones every step of the way.
Why I want to do this charity walk?
My girlfriend Izzie is a sufferer of Cystic Fibrosis. I want to raise money, which could assist in aiding research to develop better treatments for CF and hopefully one day find a cure. Many don't understand what Cystic Fibrosis is, and so by completing this walk, people donating and reading this page, I hope it creates greater awareness. It is an invisible illness and sufferers in some cases can look almost completely healthy. Daily medications can last several hours involving physio and inhalation medications as well as numerous tablets. All of this can take up almost a quarter of everyday.
