At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

I am the river runner!

In April next year I am going to run the entire length of "my beloved" Thames Path then complete the London marathon... all in 1 week. I set off from Thames Head in Gloucestershire on Saturday 15th April and arrive at Thames Barrier in East London on Saturday 22nd April, the next day I will complete the London Marathon.

Over the last 18 months I have become a bit obsessed with running. Yet today, as I set up this page, the farthest I have run is 17 miles. With my love for distance running growing it did not feel right to ask you, my friends, family, loved ones and maybe just the curious, to sponsor me to do something I enjoy.

So I've decided to challenge myself to running the entire length of the Thames before taking part in the world's most famous marathon!

I will be covered 213 miles in just over the space of a week, which works out as a marathon per day.

Please give generously to this great cause and help Alzheimer's Society continue to lead the way in the fight against dementia.
