Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

For anyone that knows me I love challenging myself and I love the outdoors, hiking, walking, trekking and mountains. I've taken on various challenges before and raised money for charity before, but this time it's different.

In November 2015 I lost my uncle, Alan Selcoe, to Pancreatic Cancer. This happened very suddenly following his diagnosis and before that I didn't have any real experience of how devastating Cancer could be. As you can imagine its been on my mind ever since and I wanted to do something to raise money and awareness for Macmillan ever since, so i thought this was an ideal opportunity to do just that.

At this point in time I will be walking alone, but of course there will be hundreds of other like minded people taking part as well, but I do have an unofficial team mate who will be supporting me in various ways.

I met Simon Thompson during a trip to Peru where we had both signed up for the Inca Trail Trek for Scope. Prior to this we had never met, but it turned out we had alot in common.

Last year I took part in Trailwalker for Oxfam and Simon's drinks brand -  www.thompsons.fr - was my teams official sponsor and donated a generous amount to the cause as well as supplying us with t-shirts for the even and helped spread the word through his business.

Upon learning I was taking part in another challenge this year, Simon, through his business www.thompsons.fr,  again volunteered to support me and the cause, he too lost two close family members in recent years to Cancer, Johnny and more recently Guido.

Together we want to raise as much money and awareness as possible!

Fundraising is hugely important to Macmillan. Without people doing events, running marathons, climbing mountains, and donating in all the other ways that you can, Macmillan wouldn’t exist.Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs.

The minimum target for this is event is £250, I'd like to double that!

Please feel free to dotate any amount that you feel comfortable with, but please know your money is going to a very important cause and will hopefully make a different to people's lives.
