Story
Hi all,
Thanks for getting involved by checking out my page here.
The picture I drew for this page doesn't even come close to showing how terrified I am. Not once have I been sat in a plane and considered jumping out of it, but on April 28th I am, because it's for a great cause.
I'm throwing myself out of a plane to raise money for READ International. This organization aims to aid the education system in Tanzania by building libraries in schools, and then aims to fill them by collecting donated textbooks from secondary schools here and transporting them to schools in Tanzania, as they have a very similar curriculm to us, but without the same resourses. To date our branch of READ at UEA has collected over 6,000 books from local schools and businesses in Norwich.
The money raised will send much these needed textbooks to their partner schools in Tanzania and will help build libraries, thereby ensuring the sustainability of our projects. The books will help inspire students by improving access to vital educational resources that are otherwise lacking (and in some cases, non-existent).
The more money I raise will help send even MORE books to schoolchildren in Tanzania, helping them to learn and achieve their goals. So please donate what you can and feel confident that every little bit helps!
