Mounting data  worryingly shows that domestic abuse cases have increased massively during the COVID pandemic, as partners and families have been confined together for often 24hours a day. Many more are not reported for so many reasons. 

A few years ago, with 3 young children and one on the way, and in unimaginably scary home circumstances, Bernie summoned the courage to call a Women’s Aid helpline. A sympathetic ear offering advice and support, on the other end of the phone, was the catalyst towards a new life, safe and free from further trauma, and these days filled with love, adventure, fun and laughter. 

Every woman and family deserve to live safely from fear and abuse from significant others. 

Running over 34 muddy miles with nearly 5000 feet of climb will be taking both of us well out of our comfort zones... a challenge we welcome in support of women and families who face suffering every day.
