July 2018 I noticed my left eye sight had changed. I went for an eye test and got referred to the eye hospital in Hull. Towards end of October I finally got my eye hospital appointment. After many tests and scans on my eye I was then told I needed a MRI scan on my brain. November 2018 the MRI scan was done so then I needed to wait for the results. 7th December 2018 I phoned the eye hospital to find out if my results were back. I was passed to a nurse who told me my results were back but she couldn't tell me what the results were and that a Dr would phone me asap. 6.25pm that evening I received a phone call from a Dr with my results. The Dr told me they have found a tumor on my brain very close to the Optic nerve and I was getting referred urgently to a Neurosurgeon. The Dr stated at no point at all should I postpone the appointment when I receive it as this was a matter of urgency. My appointment came through for 21st December. At that appointment I was told that I had an Optic nerve Meningioma. It was on my brain where my optic nerve is. After another MRI scan I started my treatment to try to shrink the Tumor. 6 weeks of daily radiotherapy was done. Steroids were given to me after the radiotherapy to shrink the swelling on my brain which the radiotherapy caused. Another MRI scan was done a few months later and that showed the tumor hasn't started shrinking so I had to have another MRI scan months later. Again the tumor had not shrunk but at least it had not grown anymore so the radiotherapy had at least stopped it from growing. Now, almost 3 years later I still have the tumor and it is with me for the rest of my life but it has not grown any bigger. I unfortunately will never get the sight back in my left eye but I can cope with that as my right eye is still working as it should. 

Never ever did a brain tumor cross my mind when I noticed a change in my eye sight and since then if anyone tells me that their eye sight has changed suddenly the first thing I tell them is to go get their eyes checked.
