Story

On the 28th April 2022, we said goodbye to our hero, the irrefutably one of a kind that was Mr Brian Alan Beadle.

Instead of hosting a large eventful funeral, we chose to donate money instead to the Royal British Legion and family and friends who met him, joked with him or learnt a fact from him have kindly joined our fundraising efforts. Military history was a great passion of Dad's, with annual trips to Belgium, and Remembrance Day being so important to him, we think he would very much approve of funds towards The Royal British Legion.

"Brian Beadle, Barney or Dig Bad, Loving Husband, father, friend and Grandad. So many things made him one of a kind, Here are just a few that spring to mind.

He was a big man of six foot four, Everyone noticed when he walked through the door. But finely dressed in a suit and tie, Many photos show he was a handsome guy.

Lived across the street from young Wendy Ann, And that is where their future began. They bought their forever home called Medina, And were later to be joined by Anna and Nina.

Brian travelled the world working away, But home remained his favourite place to stay. If gone for the whole weekend he had to bring, A gift back for his darling two offspring.

Passionate about history especially World War One, Trips to France and Belgium were always done. A collection of fire brigade memorabilia, Meant polishing brasses became our careers.

Man of the house always wanting to provide, But past Brian there was nothing you could hide. Ear piercings, trips out or something new you'd got, His opinion you would hear, whether you wanted it or not.

Forever asking where people were from, He would know about the place and never be wrong. Always reading faces, accents and manners, The only thing he ever tidied was his collection of spanners.

Known for a huge Sunday roast with creamy mash, The TV remote in his hand and red wine in his glass. A collection of jaguars, tractors and tools, A few too many cigarettes and ignoring tax rules.

He's refused to live in a box for all his years, So he's not starting now despite all our tears. Right to the end Brian was a fighter, So home we will take him to forever shine brighter.

If love could have saved you, you never would have died. But we all remember you now, bursting with pride. In life we loved you dearly and in death we love you still, Always and forever Dad, we absolutely will. "
