Story
White lodge is a small charity which cares for disabled adults and children based in Chertsey Surrey. They provide a range of care including childcare, adult daycare, rehabilitation, hydrotherapy, respite services and physio to name just a few.
I came to know of white lodge over 30 years ago when my younger cousin was born, he was born with severe brain damage. Back then there was little support and knowledge for parents and family’s, White lodge was only one building called “the cottage” and that place provided the understanding and support we needed at that time.
30 years on and they have developed so much, trying their utmost to keep up with the modern changes. What was just one building is now 3 main areas, children’s services, treetops respite and the adults centre and cafe, they also have a hydrotherapy pool and most recently a cinema (as some of the people there would never have experienced a real cinema) no to mention lovely outdoor spaces with woodlands!
Being a small stand alone charity it’s hard to raise funding and create awareness that it desperately needs to stay open and functioning for the people that need it!
I have been a patron for over 10 years now and this year is harder than ever, events/fundraisers having to be cancelled, groups are where the money is raised! It’s very very hard to raise money when we can’t meet in groups and mostly have to stay indoors, this is why I need your support!!
Please please take part in my challenge or donate on this page.
Thank you
