Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
In 2016, many lives were turned upside down when we were given the dreadful news that a good friend (Tony Witchalls/Big T) was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer.
Treatment started straight away, including chemotherapy, radiotherapy and many operations, but sadly after 2 years of fighting, Tony lost his battle to this terrible illness on the 12th July 2018.
A beloved husband, Dad, Grandad, Son, Brother, Uncle and Friend who is missed and loved by everyone that knew him. Gone but never forgotten, Tony was a hero to many of us and his legacy will remain.
Before Tonys diagnosis, many of us had not heard of Pancreatic Cancer, or the charity that supports the patients going through this terrible time. Once we had better knowledge of this terrible illness, we decided we wanted to do something to help raise awareness, as throughout his battle, Tony and his family received much support from Pancreatic Cancer Action, who comforted them through their very difficult time.
In May 2017 we got together a team of 17, to take on our first Tough Mudder Challenge and raised an amazing £5,772.60!!!
As expected, the challenge was very difficult- more difficult then imagined, however our perseverance and team spirit got us to the finish line, with smiles all around!
After losing Tony, and hearing of more sad diagnosis for other friends, we have decided to once again take on this difficult challenge, with an even bigger team, for donations to a wonderful charity, who focus on early diagnosis and survival.
With this in mind, I ask that you please donate to this wonderful charity, and support us in raising money for all those affected, and of course remembering a great man. We hope that the money we raise, will go towards a cure, so that others won’t have to suffer like our beloved Tony did. Thank you xx
