Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever. Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
In Addition, dementia is a condition that is felt by everyone globally, Whether you personally are related to someone with dementia or have a friend who is fighting their way through it, we can all see the effects it has on people and their families. With 1 in 6 people over the age of 80 having dementia, and 70 percent of people in care homes having dementia or some form of severe memory problems. Dementia is a crisis that needs to be solved and fast, as someone in the world develops dementia every three seconds. The number of people with recorded dementia is set to almost double in the next 20 years. So let's stop this now and work together to find a cure
What is Dementia:
Dementia is an umbrella term for a range of progressive conditions that affect the brain. There are over 200 subtypes of dementia, but the five most common are: Alzheimer's disease, vascular dementia, dementia with Lewy bodies, frontotemporal dementia, and mixed dementia.
