Weldmar Hospicecare needs to raise more than £27,000 to continue providing specialist care for adults in Dorset with a life limiting illness, and support for their loved ones. 19% of our costs are met by the NHS, the rest comes from the generosity of the local community that we serve in Dorset.

Story

Unfortunately my 100 day trek has been cancelled due to COVID-19 but that will not stop me challenging myself to raise money for the wonderful Joseph Weld Hospice.

January 2021 I will be walking/jogging/running 2 marathons a week (completing 8 marathons throughout the month) to raise as much as I possibly can for Weldmar.. Whatever the weather!

Why? Because they helped look after one incredibly special lady in my life before she passed away. Offering a lovely room where she could watch the birds out of the window, Weldmar provided comfortable end of life care, family time and independence. They catered to every single extreme request of mine; "please may I wash her hair" "please may we wheel the bed into the garden" "please may we have some pink lemonade and raspberry jam." They even allowed me to sleep in her room on a camp-bed and offered me breakfast so I could eat with her. The staff at Joseph Weld went beyond the level of care our entire family originally assumed. They turned me from a carer back into a granddaughter for the last couple of weeks and I will forever be extremely grateful beyond words. Their love, patience, care and commitment is outstanding.

In remembrance of my beautiful Granny ♥️
