The Helen Clarke Fund · 4 May 2014

Established in Helen's name by those who knew her in order to raise funds for a specific research project aimed at advancing the scientific knowledge of the dreadful disease that is Ovarian Cancer, and to contribute to efforts to improve early diagnosis, treatments and outcomes for other women.

Story

Thanks for having a look at my page and hopefully donating towards my heptathlon!

On the 4th of May, I am going to be taking part in a heptathlon along side my school house. We are doing this because not too long ago the wife of one of our teachers' was sadly diagnosed with ovarian cancer. She passed away in August 2012 having fought against it for almost five years.

Therefore on the 4th of May around 80 of my peers and I will be doing:

  1. 8 kilometers running
  2. 4 kilometers rowing
  3. 15 kilometers cycling
  4. 100 press ups
  5. 100 sit ups
  6. 10 pull ups
We will all have 6 hours to achieve this which will be tough for most. All together, we will be running to Fort William is Scotland, rowing to Middlesborough and cycling to Munich.

I hope that everybody can find the time to donate a small amount of money. I have set a target of £800 as I feel that this would help a huge amount towards the cause. Hopefully with everyone's collective donations we can help others who have the misfortune to be in the same case that Helen was.

Thank you
