We give care and support to patients when it matters most.

Story

We at Blu Wireless have chosen St. Peter's Hospice as our charity of the year. They focus on caring for adults with life-limiting illnesses, aiming to improve the quality of their living and dying while extending care and support to their loved ones. They also teach other healthcare professionals about how to care for people at the end of their lives.

For us, this is an important charity, made even more so as we remember Sam's partner Amy. Amy passed away from cancer in early 2018. She was in considerable pain and the hospice gave her a place to spend her last days where she could be more comfortable and not have the worry of dying at home or in a hospital ward, something which the thought of made her very upset. They were also able to provide counselling services for both her and Esmee (Amy and Sam's 6 year old daughter) which extended for several months of support for Esmee in the months following her mum's death.

Amy was a wonderful person and a fantastic mother. She worked for many years as a well respected Clinical Psychologist for the NHS and specialised in the treatment of adults with ADHD, but in October 2016 she was diagnosed with breast cancer which spread to her bones and then her liver despite the various treatments that were available. Amy lost her life far too early, but even whilst she was having treatment she continued working as well as being the most amazing mum any little girl could hope for.

St. Peter's Hospice relies massively on donations as only 20% of their costs are funded by the NHS. All care is provided free of charge, but it costs around £22,000 a day to provide that care.

We can make a difference to this worthy cause via our fund-raising events and individual donations which will happen throughout 2020. Get involved, have fun and raise some much needed funds for a chairty close to our hearts.

All our donations and fund-raising efforts will be collated via our JustGiving page in memory of Amy Watts.

Our goal this year is to raise £1100.

Who is going to be the first to get us started?! Feel free to share this on your own social media pages, someone you know may like to donate to this worthy cause.
