Books For Syria is a national chapter of Books International, a UNESCO-certified project.
The mission of Books for Syria is to provide educational material for
Syrian children impacted by conflict and displacement. The focus is on
creating and delivering books to Syrian children in refugee camps, and this
is made possible by activating talented writers and illustrators in the
community to develop socially conscious and culturally relevant content for
the children. All of the Books for Syria projects aim to give the children
a sense empowerment and hope for the future while providing a valuable
resource to complement their education.
A children's magazine, ‘أنا’, written and illustrated by Samah Zaitoon was distributed on the 24th of September to 3000 Syrian children aged 5 to 12, in Kilis Refugee Camp, Turkey.
Thanks to your kind donations, 'Far From Home' written and illustrated by Samah Zaitoun, a children's book in arabic and english about hope and optimism, was distributed to 3000 children in Karamah and Atmeh Camp, inside Syria.
Help us reach our goal to be able to publish and distribute our third publication! 'Me and Him' is a book for children aged 7 to 10 written by Zeina Kanawati and illustrated by Salam Al Hassan.
This project is part of the intellectual rebuilding effort through imagination, creativity and exploration. Education, Empowerment and Therapy are the desired social impact.
