Headway Thames Valley's range of essential services for local families living with brain injury is reliant on the generosity, dedication and imagination of their supporters. As a local and independent charity, it is only through the support of the community that they can continue to offer the amazing support they provide for those impacted by brain injury.
Boyes Turner in partnership with Headway Thames Valley are completing either a 25km, 15km or 5km hike starting and finishing at HTV's Brunner Hall Activity Centre in Henley-on-Thames. The route will take in some of the most stunning scenery of South Oxfordshire, the River Thames and the surrounding countryside.
Headway Thames Valley are in the process of completing a big garden make over project at Brunner Hall. They would like to raise funds to create a sensory vegetable and herb garden in an unused and overgrown area of their garden. Phase one of clearing the space is now complete.
Phase two of the garden make over will be to resurface and put in raised accessible beds so that people in wheelchairs or with mobility difficulties can easily access the beds. There will be seating areas in between and the beds will be planted with flowers, vegetables and a range of herbs to appeal to all senses.
Marie Finch, Resource Centre Supervisor at Headway Thames Valley, has said that “The garden is a great space for our clients to enjoy some fresh air and do a bit of gardening, particularly if they don’t have a garden at home or find it difficult to get out”.
The event is intended to provide a fantastic opportunity for all supporters of the Headway Thames Valley community to get out in the fresh air of the countryside, meet with friends or new people, as well as raising funds for this exciting project.
