Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page set up in memory of my brave and talented husband, Michael.
Michael lived with type 1 diabetes for 50 years. It meant daily injections of insulin and constant vigilance over what and how much he ate, and his level of activity. But diabetes can also lead to many other complications including cardio-vascular problems, and the last few years of Michael's life involved a great deal of suffering as these conditions gradually got worse.
The rate of people affected by type 1 diabetes is increasing by four per cent annually, particularly in children under five. By donating to JDRF, you can help the research to find the cause, a cure and a way of preventing this distressing condition.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
