Story
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer among men in the UK. One in eight men in the UK will be diagnosed with it.
Great advances have been made in recent years in detection, diagnosis and treatment. But there's more work to be done.
Now I'm approaching my late sixties I'm very aware of the threat of Prostate Cancer. In the last couple of years one good mate has happily survived it, but another friend, sadly, has died of it. My Dad also had it (which increases my personal risk, apparently).
In November I'm going to be walking 60 Miles to help raise funds for Prostate Cancer Research.
I could do the 60 miles all in one go and walk from Frome to Budleigh Salterton. But I'm not going to be doing that, mainly because I don't particularly want to go to Budleigh Saterton.
So instead I'm going to be walking 2 miles a day for the month. Apart from trying to raise funds, I'll also be doing something which is pretty good for my own health (even with my dodgy knee).
Every donation to Prostate Cancer Research helps advance their mission to beat it, so please support me during this challenge by donating what you can.
Thank you for your support!
PS And yes, I have a 2 mile route, which, it just so happens, passes closeby a nice cafe which does a very nice hot chocolate. And there's a decent pub along the route too.
