Thank you for visiting my JustGiving page.
In 2015 I cycled 240 miles from London Eye to the Eiffel Tower in Paris. Last year I enjoyed the challenge of completing the 100 mile section of the Hadrian' Cycleway from Bowness-on-Solway to Tynemouth.
This year my challenge is to cycle the 99 miles of the Devon Coast to Coast route from Ilfracombe to Plymouth over a weekend. Logistically the main challenge will be getting to and from Devon in the allocated time!
The profile of the main part will also prove somewhat of a challenge compared to my normal routes on the roads of flat Cambridgeshire! Hence the need for more training before the Challenge in mid-2017.
Although it is a personal challenge (I will cover all the expenses), I am once again raising funds for The Turbo Trust, a charity I have supported for many years.
The Turbo Trust provides independent mobility through the funding of individually designed powerchairs, many of which are designed and made by Dragonmobility Ltd, whose Finance Director I am.
Over the years I have seen the transformation in many people as a result of this mobility equipment (see http://m.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-28044341 and http://www.2000Lives.org ] and I want to continue helping The Turbo Trust.
The Turbo Trust is a small charity helping people throughout the UK. The need for specialised mobility equipment is always there so I am starting this page earlier than normal.
Donations will directly help people like those featured on The Turbo Trust's main Just Giving page. The cost of each elevating powerchair, including a five year support package, is about £20,000. Whilst it would be great to raise this amount, and I'm not stopping anyone from helping me do so, my target is a bit more modest and ties in to the distance (99 miles) and the time I have been with Dragonmobility (11 years)!
I am happy to discuss sponsorship opportunities with companies.
