Cyclone 24 · 16 October 2016

We are The Wallich. We’re doing something about homelessness. We give vulnerable people the accommodation and support to live safer, happier, more independent lives and become part of their communities. We believe everyone deserves the right to a home and to feel positive about their future.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. On the 16th October 2016 a team of 6 riders from Cardiff and Vale College will be joining 23 other teams to take part in a 24 hour cycle relay challenge to raise money for the Wallich. The event will see the riders compete to go the furthest distance over 24 hours around Newport's National Velodrome, home to Welsh Cycling and training preparation track for the Rio Olympic team.

The Wallich are a homelessness charity and have been working with homeless and vulnerable people for over 30 years. They work to find lasting solutions to homelessness and prevent its occurrence by working with those who are in danger of becoming homeless. They are most proud of is the difference they make to peoples lives, helping over 4000 people per year across Wales.

They house people that have been street homeless and have nowhere else to go. They help women who have suffered domestic violence. They support young people who are leaving the care system, soldiers leaving the army and many other who have fallen on hard times. They are open 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
