CBRN RRT Tour de France challenge

CBRN RRT Tour de France challenge · 27 April 2020
Our department in the London Fire Brigade, the Rapid Response Team, are trying to raise funds for the William Chown Charitable Trust. The Trust's mission is to provide PPE for NHS staff in the form of face shields, a valuable resource to protect our brave frontline workers.
So far the team based at Lambeth with the help and support of many of the London Fire Brigade's stations have made 25000 shields to date. It's been a privilege to help make the face shields, however we're at the challenging point where the William Chown Charitable Trust needs more funds for the components to make more shields.
What challenge could we set ourselves to inspire people's generosity to give towards the cause? By cycling the equivalent of the Tour de France 3500km or 2200 miles on exercise bikes we thought! 4 watches of roughly 9 staff each plan to meet the challenge in 10 days or faster. That's 220 miles a day per watch.
We have set an initial target of raising £5000, If this is hit we should be able to provide a further 5000 face shields to assist frontline workers in the fight against Covid19.
So with your help we hope to get on our bikes then as quickly as possible back onto the production line making more face shields.
Thank you so much for visiting our fund raising page. We thank and salute you in advance for any generous donations received.
