Story
Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a life-limiting genetic condition affecting more than 10,000 people across the UK. It affects the lungs and digestive system and can cause chronic infections and reduced lung function. Currently, half of those with CF will not live past the age of 41.The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is fighting for a brighter future for people with CF and their families by funding cutting-edge research, driving up standards of care and supporting people with the condition and their loved ones every step of the way.
One of my best and oldest friends has CF so I'm raising money for the CF Trust with my first marathon. Every penny makes a huge difference, and with your donation you could be helping to add years onto someone's life. Dan's lung function is currently 28% - imagine breathing through a straw all day, every day, and that's some way to the reality of everyday life with CF.
Thank you so much for your donation. I do enjoy running but this is much further than anything I've done before; the last few weeks of training and the run itself will be much easier knowing I've hit my target! (It's only £10 per mile!)
