Many thanks for all the kind donations and those who raised funds on my behalf.

Thanks also to the inimitable Paul Mattin, expedition leader and of course my fellow Wooden Spoon Trekkers, Sue Day, Ces Agger, Ian and Dan Bagshaw, Chris Kelly, Penny Conlon, George Holland and Andrew Butcher.

It's still possible to donate, whatever the amount via text, this website, cheque or cash. It is a brilliant charity and playing rugby with the kids in Khumjung put our whole incredible experience in perspective.

30th September - 24th October

Nine others and I will be trekking to Base Camp, Mount Everest to raise money for this fantastic children's charity.
Originally from Stranraer in South West Scotland, I attended Sandhead Primary, Stranraer Academy and the University of Edinburgh. I played women's rugby in the Scottish Premier League for Uni and RHC Cougars until injury forced me to retire at the age of 23. I now work in the PE & Outdoor Education Department at The Cheltenham Ladies' College and live in Gloucestershire.

Wooden Spoon is a children's charity founded in 1983 that is dedicated to helping underprivileged children and young people all over the UK and Ireland to live happier, richer lives.

They comprise of over 40 regional volunteer committees as well as a central national team and we boast more than 10,000 members across the UK and Ireland. The regional committees undertake local fundraising activities and ensure that the money is spent on projects in their community so that the benefit of their work is always immediate, visible and lasting.

Wooden Spoon exists to improve the quality and prospect of life for children and young people who are disadvantaged physically, mentally or socially.
