Burketeers supporting Cleft Lip and Palate · 31 March 2017

CLAPA is a support organisation for all those affected by cleft lip and/or palate. One in 700 children are born with this condition. We provide information, advice, and support through our online events led by staff members and volunteers. Facebook groups, and peer and parent support services.

Story

CLAPA have been hit hard by the reduction in charity giving during the pandemic. They support families across the UK where over 1000  babies with cleft are born each year.

£10 buys a feeding kit for a new baby with cleft - something the NHS doesn't provide. £50 provides a support pack for a maternity unit. Every penny or pound helps. Their work includes supporting parents and health professionals seeking help feeding babies with clefts; supporting adolescents in schools and social situations, encouraging research into causes and treatments of cleft and much much more.
