SQS Tech Team Challenge · 11 June 2016 ·

We’re the only charity fighting to end child abuse in the UK and Channel Islands. That’s why we help children who’ve been abused to rebuild their lives, we protect children at risk, and we find the best ways of preventing child abuse from ever happening.

Story

CRC Technology have entered 4 teams for the SQS Tech Team Challenge on 11th June and need your help!

Objectives:
The main objective of the event is to fundraise on behalf of NSPCC Northern Ireland and for the technology sector to come together in order to raise awareness of the impact of technology on children, both good and bad.

ChildLine Facts:
- On average, at least two children in every classroom of every primary school are being abused, neglected or bullied - these include children in all of our local communities.

 - Currently only 3 out of 4 calls can be answered for childline - £5,000 could answer 1,250 calls

 - £1,000 could provide 20 hours of one-to-one therapy for children who have been abused

 - 88% of funds come from voluntary donations

 - All monies raised in NI is spent in NI supporting local children

 Key Facts:
It is an 80km Coastal Endurance event,  set for Saturday 11th June, starting in Ballycastle.

It is expected that around 200 IT people will take part from both large and small NI technology companies.

Teams will be made up of 5 branded cyclists with companies entering as many teams as they wish.

There will be great prizes and in particular a major prize for the ‘Victor at Vanishing Lake’ Crown.

There will be family entertainment for the cyclist’s young supporters such as face painting and creative fun.

There will be literature, talks and videos on staying safe online available for the young supporters and parents to see.

Veteran Cyclist John Madden is Ambassador for the event. John will ride alongside the team that raise the most funds for the event.

Chain Reaction Technologies, SQS Group and Bob & Berts Coffee are primary sponsors and supporters of the event.

Fundraising:
100% of funds raised from the event will go to ChildLine NI,

helping to support young distressed children within our local communities.

The target is for each 5 person team to raise £1000 to match the company entry fee for the event or where possible better it.
