Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As part of the Mumsnet community I have been and am involved in crocheting squares for Woolly Hugs, which are all put together to make beautiful blankets for bereaved families who are also part of Mumsnet. If you would like to have a look at some of the beautiful creations, have a look at their website.

Blankets are also being made for the charity World Child Cancer,  with them being sent to children suffering with cancer in some of the poorest countries. The charity was chosen by a dear friend of mine, whose beautiful daughter, Billie, died from leukaemia at the tender age of just 14.

When one of the wonderful coordinators of the Woolly Hugs team told me about the 5K run I, after snorting a bit..., said that I will do it too. This will come as something of a surprise to just about everyone, given my HUGE dislike of running. Anywhere.

Having seen just a small snapshot of the amazing work that cancer charities do when I was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer late last year, I absolutely have to give something back.

I am assured there will be gin and tonic (and chocolate) at the end to keep me going, and I have also promised Billie's dear mama that I will run in pink. Pink tutu, pink wings and, if I can find some, pink trainers. TBH I think this reason alone is enough to have you all sponsor me :D.

I have started a vague training programme which currently is down to a power walk between school and home (2K each way), and will start building the running side up over the summer.
