CHECT have helped me, other children, and their families through the difficulties of dealing with Retinoblasnoma (Rb). For children and parents having a diagnosis of Rb is extremely frightening. Having a child lose one or both eyes or undergo chemotherapy for this fast growing cancer is a life changing event. CHECT helps support families through this every step of the way. 

I had one eye removed after being diagnosed with Rb and it was awful for my parents at the time and as I grew up it became awful for me. Coming to terms with having one eye was and still is difficult and will probably never change but CHECT have made it easier. The support they offered was very important for me and will continue to be for those who have been diagnosed.

To give back for the help they gave me, I am running the 2018 London Marathon in aid of CHECT. At 26.22 miles it is a long way and I am certainly daunted.

All donations - big or small - are appreciated. Rest assured they will go to a great cause and make and difference to normal peoples lives who have been badly affected. chect.org.uk contains details of the great work they do but the main work surrounds support for families and research.
