Vitality Oxford Half Marathon 2015 · 11 October 2015 ·
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On 2nd October, I'm going to cut my locks and shave my head, with the length of my hair being donated to the Little Princess Trust, who create real hair wigs for children who have lost their hair, mostly due to cancer treatments. The following Sunday (October 11th) I'll then run, shorn like a sheep, the 13.1 miles that make up the Oxford Half Marathon.
Alzheimer's is a horrible disease which my family have been unlucky enough to witness first hand. My Grandpa used to be the life and soul of conversation, a very cheery and intelligent man, and Alzheimer's has sadly turned him into a shell of a person, unable to really recognise his own grandchildren and certainly unaware of daily life. I want to help Alzheimer's Society to find a cure to allow people to grow old with dignity, and not to lose their sense of being.
If you don't think shaving my head is worthy of a donation, sponsor me for the half marathon. If you don't think running a half marathon is impressive, sponsor me for shaving off all my hair. Or dig deep and sponsor me for both :)!
