We challenge attitudes on mental health to help anyone affected by mental illness

Story

Anniversary coming up? Someone's birthday? Maybe you've been asked to do a reading for a friend's wedding. Or you have a child you want a fun story for. Or perhaps you'd just like something to make yourself chuckle.

You choose the style, you choose the length, you choose what you want it to be about and I'll write it!

All I ask for in return is you donate some pounds to the wonderful mental health charity Rethink Mental Illness.

Mental health problems affect 1 in 4 people every year, yet 9 out of 10 people experiencing a problem say they face discrimination as a result.

In 2015 75% of all suicides were male and it's the single biggest killer of men under the age of 45 - more than cancer, road accidents, anything.

Despite crisis care existing, only 14% of people reported receiving the right care and support when in a mental health crisis (be that an anxiety or panic attack, or a psychotic episode).

Sadly, I could go on and on like this. But by giving a few quid to Rethink Mental Illness, you'll be helping a charity tackle all of the above issues.

Through their expert advice line, over 200 mental health services and 150 support groups, national campaigns and policy team and online guides and factsheets, this excellent charity treats your donations with respect and use them to do marvellous things.

If you'd like to get involved, email ca.burkitt@gmail.com, tweet me @CarlBurkitt, or comment on this page.

I'll respond with a few questions and use your answers to write the piece and finally you donate what you think it's worth.
