Our life in the UK - over 16 years - was off to a wonderful start thanks to a good friend whose memory I would like to honour by fundraising for Dementia UK. 

The impact he had in our lives was immense, making us feel welcomed and loved. 

It is often the lesser-known, everyday heroes like him who change the lives of many through their quiet, yet powerful kindness.

By fundraising for Dementia UK, I wish to pay tribute to him and to all the incredible people who are silently improving the lives of their friends and families with simple but important gestures, like volunteering for a charity which, like Dementia UK, has a direct impact on the everyday live of families and people living with dementia.
