Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This will be my first ever skydive and it's fair to say that I'm a tad nervous!! However I really want to challenge myself and conquer my fear to raise money for this fantastic charity - Yorkshire Cancer Research
In May 2010 my beloved dad was diagnosed with tongue cancer. His tumour was surgically removed in June and he had an 80% survival rate, however god had other plans and tragically took him from us later that month :o(
And just recently my lovely dad-in-law/fantastic grandad to my 3 boys had a terrible cancer scare. Thankfully he is now recovering well and able to enjoy life... hence the reason why this charity is so close to my heart.
Yorkshire Cancer Research is committed to slashing current statistics that show 263 people die every week from cancer in Yorkshire alone. Currently Yorkshire has one of the worst cancer survival rates in the UK, partly due to a lack of funding by the government and national charities to researches and clinicians throughout the region.
Every penny raised is spent in Yorkshire, funding £6m of research, treatment and diagnosis projects each year. The 200 plus scientists and clinicians funded by Yorkshire Cancer Research are among the world leaders in the fight against cancer.
So, please, please, please support me and this very worthy cause and I promise to be my best not to 'bottle it' or drop dead from fear in that plane!!
