Story

On October 3rd 2021 I am running the London Marathon. Although this is going to be a massive tick off my bucket list I also wanted to take the opportunity to raise money for a charity that is close to my heart.

The Ipswich Baby Bereavement group is a charity run by volunteer Midwives and Maternity Care Assistants at Ipswich Hospital. They are working to change the way bereaved parents are cared for.

Working in the Maternity unit at the Ipswich Hospital I see first hand the difference the amazing Baby Bereavement Charity makes to parents who have suffered the loss of a baby at any stage of their pregnancy.

So far they have been able to fund a Quiet Room, so families can have a private delivery with extra home comforts. Memory Boxes are given so families can create and store some memories of their baby and specialist cuddle cots allowing families to remain together for longer after birth.
