Glasgow Children's Hospital cares for over 200,000 children a year. This year 1 in 3 children in Glasgow will be cared for by Glasgow Children's Hospital. 

Hospitals can be a frightening place for children and families can be seriously affected too. 

The Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity provides support for children and families in addition to funding research, providing essential items for families in hospital and running an excellent play project for children in hospital. 

Even the children's teddy bears can be cared for by the teddy bear hospital which aims to teach children about their conditions through the "treatment" of their teddy bear while the child cares for their bear and learns as they play the role of the doctor. The result is children feel more confident in hospitals and about starting their treatments and often their teddy bear comes back for its checkup along with the child.
