Story

As many of you already know, my boyfriend Harry has been suffering from Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (M.E.) also known as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) for just over 2 years now.  The symptoms can vary however there are many and most M.E. sufferers will endure a large combination of them.  These include...

-persistent exhaustion

-muscle and joint paint

-insomnia and general sleep disturbance

-flu-like symptoms which include headaches, sore throat, painful lymph nodes and dizziness

-Nausea

-Problems with memory and concentration

As the medical world continues to try and understand this disease, "Action for M.E. is committed to making M.E. a priority on the research agenda as they work with scientists, doctors and the government to make this happen."

Before Harry became ill his life was filled with intense activities.  These included: climbing Mount Kilimanjaro 3 times, devoting numerous summers to helping orphaned children cope with HIV in Tanzania, cycling Lands End to John O’Groats in 8 days and playing professional & semi professional cricket for Yorkshire Academy and Farsley CC.

Throughout his illness Harry has remained strong.  He rarely complains about his illness and the fact that since the age of 24 he has had to miss out on many of the things most 20 year olds take for granted.

So please... sponsor me as I run the Great North Run’s half marathon on September 16th from Newcastle to South Shields to raise money for Action for M.E.  All of the money raised will be donated to help fund the essential research needed to help find the cause and cure for this disease.

Let’s get Harry back to playing cricket and doing all of the intense sports and activities he misses so much!

Any donation no matter how big/small will be massively appreciated.

Thank you x
