Story
In February 2024, I'll be taking on a once-in-a-lifetime journey through Cambodia, Thailand and Laos. My fellow cyclists and I will be cycling over 500km to meet Lendwithcare entrepreneurs and raise funds for CARE's poverty fighting projects.
I had been interested in micro-financing for a long time but hadn't taken any action until last year, when I saw an advertisement for Lendwithcare that inspired me to invest in entrepreneurs in Malawi and Peru. It was great to be able to read about the people and their projects before deciding which ones to support and it has been inspiring to track their progress.
When I heard that Lendwithcare was organising an expedition by bicycle to meet some of the entrepreneurs in Thailand, taking in Laos and Cambodia, and starting in Angkor Wat, which my parents visited many years ago, I couldn't resist the challenge...
Those of you who have known me for a long time may remember my last long distance bike ride, a solo trip along the coast of Britain from West Wittering up to Scotland and down to Wales and Bath, before coming back to Riversdown in Hampshire, covering more than 1800 miles in 6 weeks to raise money for Whizz-Kidz.
As that was nearly 20 years ago, it is certainly time to dust off my saddle and hit the road again in support of CARE International and Lendwithcare.
Help me raise funds for their great work, by sponsoring this new adventure! You can find out more at https://lendwithcare.org/ and you may be inspired to support some of the entrepreneurs yourself.
