Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In just one weeks time I am taking on the Carten100 with the husband . A 100 mile bike ride to Tenby in one day . . It started out as a personal challenge and a bit of fun however I never realised just how hard cycling is !!
We have been starting early on Sunday mornings 6 am so we can get back in time for when the kids get up .
I have given up on many occasions but Mark has been alongside me all the way and has patiently put up with my moaning and groaning for 8 weeks 2- 3 times a week . Many a time there have been rows , swearing , tears , sweat , bruises, chaffing,😮tantrums , throwing the bike ( all by me ) but we've plodded on and kept going. (This behaviour isn't unusual in normal married life so he's used to it ) 😀 👍⭐️😘
We cycled 60 miles last weekend and average 80 + miles over the course of a week .
Apart from my own personal challenge it would also be more meaningful if I could help
the Carten100 nominated charity . This year it is JDRF which is for juvenile type1 diabetes . The research to find a cure is being carried out here in Cardiff at UHW . Type-1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease and can occur anytime , happens by no fault and it mostly occurs in childhood .
There are so many worthy charities out there to choose and I know everyone likes to do what they can but if you would like to donate , even a small amount it would mean something to any families who have children with the disease .
Two of the sponsors have also promised to price match £1 for every pound donated, so even a £5 donation or friends / family clubbing together will make a difference .
Thank you for reading this and
fingers crossed for next Sat , bum pads at the ready Tenby here we come !! 🚴🏽♀️🚴🏽♀️Weather please be kind 🙏
