Lottie's big chop for Crohns and Colitis UK

Catherine Killen is raising money for Crohn’s & Colitis UK

Lottie's big chop for Crohns and Colitis UK · 2 July 2021

We’re the UK’s leading charity for Crohn’s and Colitis. Right now, over 500,000 people in the UK are living with a lifelong disease that many people have never heard of. We’re working to improve diagnosis and treatment; to fund research and to raise awareness.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page, my name is Lottie and I am 9 years old.

I have been growing my hair for 18 months to help support two charities.

I am having over 9 inches cut off on Friday 2nd July and will be donating the hair to The Little Princess Trust and I am also hoping to raise some sponsorship to donate to Crohns and Colitis UK.

My Mum is one of the 500,000 people in the UK who suffers with either crohns or colitis.

Crohns disease is an immune condition that attacks any part of the digestive system. When my Mum has a flare up she suffers with awful pain and sickness as well as joint pain and exhaustion.

She has had major surgery and still has to take lots of medications with horrible side effects. Even when she is well she has pain and fatigue a lot of the time.

There is no cure for crohns or colitis at the moment but I really hope the work of Crohns and Colitis UK means there will be in the future.

Thank you for supporting me.
