Amelia’s big cut! · 12 February 2022

The Little Princess Trust provides real hair wigs, free of charge, to children and young people who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or to other conditions. The charity is also one of the largest funders of childhood cancer research in the UK.

Story

Telling my children i have cancer is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do.  The hardest part for Amelia has been the fact i am losing all my hair.  As a result I’ve made sure she was heavily involved in the process and because of her we went wig shopping, so she felt in control!

In the wig shop, Amelia noticed the wigs for children and asked why they were needed.  After explaining, she announced ‘well I have loads of hair, I could have mine cut to make a wig for a little girl who doesn’t have hair’ I have never felt more proud and my heart has never been more full than in that moment.

So In the new year (when it’s grown a little longer she currently has around 10inches to donate) she will be having her hair chopped! It’s costs around £550 to make the donated hair into a wig so alongside the chop we are asking for donations to support the little princess trust into making her hair into a wig 💛

When a child loses their hair to cancer or another condition, we'll be there with a free, real hair wig to help restore their confidence and identity. We won't stop until the research that we fund ends childhood cancer forever. Promise. Please visit us at www.littleprincesses.org.uk to find out how you can help us give young people back what cancer takes away. The Trust relies solely on the efforts of enthusiastic community fundraisers. We receive no formal funding. Please help to raise money for us so that we can help more families.
