Sue Ryder supports people through the most difficult times of their lives. Whether that’s a terminal illness, the loss of a loved one or a neurological condition – they’re there when it matters. Their doctors, nurses and carers give people the compassion and expert care they need to help them live the best life they possibly can.
As a member of staff here at the hospice I am so proud to be able to be part of a team that delivers care to the highest standards.
As a Sue Ryder nurse I feel privileged to be able to give care and support to people and their families at the most difficult time their lives.
Our work in the hospice at home team allows people to stay in their own safe space surrounded by their loved ones in familiar surroundings while being able being able to receive expert palliative and end of life care. It is a privilege to be able to assist people in their final wishes and make a meaningful difference while they are at their most vulnerable.
Our expert palliative and specialist personalised care ensures that people are kept comfortable on their final stage of their life journey.
The hospice relies on donations to be able to provide continuing care 24/7
These are just a few of our day to day items:
£140= A hospice nurse for a day.
£19= One hour of expert care.
£500= A bed for a day of inpatient care.
£23= Disposable medical supplies for a day.
This and so much more........
So the plan in October 2020 is to take on a challenge of endurance. Me and two of my colleagues will take on the Great Wall of China. It will be physically and emotionally challenging.
Our patients and their families face daily challenges far greater everyday and by raising vital funds we can help to ensure that people receiving our care get the best care possible.
All money raised will go directly to our Hospice at home service.
If you feel able to make a donation to this page it would mean a massive amount to myself and all my colleagues here at the hospice.
Every penny raised will make a difference.
Many thanks
Cath and team Hospice at home!
