Despite everything, Chester Zoo is still preventing extinction. From caring for 35,000 animals to helping conservation organisations across the world manage the impact of this crisis, our fight for wildlife will not stop!

Story

The gates may be closed, but Chester Zoo is still doing all it can to prevent extinction. From conservation at the zoo with 35,000 animals, to helping wildlife organisations across the world to manage the impact of this global crisis, Chester Zoo is determined not to let coronavirus stand in the way of its vital mission.

In May 2019 I cycled the Hebridean Way. 185 miles was a long way for an unfit non-cyclist but I did it! This year as it looks like I won't get back there, I've decided to walk the length of that very route, but at home in Flintshire. As I'm lucky enough to work full time for the zoo, I'll be getting in the miles before and after my working hours, starting on 23rd May.

The Outer Hebrides are a haven for wildlife, so as I walk the miles I'll share some of the stories and species of this stunning part of the world.

Please support me if you can, every donation will help me keep moving!
