Together with our amazing team at Cedar Tree Chiropractic, we are running a tough mudder to raise money for Birmingham Children’s hospital!

Our two year old daughter Posy is gentle, loving, sweet and quietly feisty. She loves imaginative play, anything to do with babies, stealing sweeties from the treat box, cuddling her family, tea parties and rubbing pudding in her hair. 

She had a difficult start in life since being born two days in to the first national lock down. She has MEN2B, a very rare genetic condition which has lead to her many health complications. She is currently in remission from thyroid cancer, has undergone 11 surgeries,  and spent a total of nearly ten months in hospital. 

She has been cared for by the amazing team at Birmingham Children’s since October 2021, and we honestly cannot put in to words how incredible they have been. They have constantly gone above and beyond for Posy. Her consultant surgeon comes in on his days off to check on her, texts with advice while on his holidays and is the most thorough, intelligent, quirky and skilled man we’ve ever known. The medical and surgical teams, the nursing staff, the allied health professionals… everyone is incredible. 

The surgeons at Birmingham met Posy when she was very very sick, and yet they saw her fighting spirit. They knew that she wanted to try everything, and together we all took a leap of faith. Posy has proved time and again that we all did the right thing, and is loving life.    

In honour of her, and in thanks to the team at BCH, we are going to throw ourselves in to the mud, and channel her determination to get over all of the obstacles!
