Far too many of us have felt the pain of losing someone we love. With your donations, we power groundbreaking cardiovascular research to save and improve lives, bring hope to families, and keep hearts beating across the UK.

Story

Thanks for visiting my page. I'm raising money for the British Heart Foundation and I'd be so grateful for your support. The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help me hit my target. Thanks!

On 12 May 2022 while running a track mile on the London Marathon Community Track at the London Stadium, I collapsed and went into cardiac arrest. I am still here only thanks to the medical team and my fellow runners who gave me CPR and used an automated external defibrillator (AED) to bring me round.

Over the past year, with the support of family and friends, including my running club Wimbledon Windmilers and my parkrun family at Wimbledon Common parkrun, I have cautiously returned to running.

I already had a place for the London Marathon in October 2022 and deferred that to this year in the hope of getting the OK to run the marathon in April. Having been given the OK to run, I am looking to take the opportunity to raise money for the British Heart Foundation who support research into heart and circulatory diseases and their risk factors, and work to influence public policy and raise awareness relating to these conditions.

Thank you for anything that you are able to give to support their work.
