I have had the privilege of working as a fitness instructor at Disability Action Yorkshire for over a year now, for some very special people. Despite all the challenges they face in life, these young learners are always enthusiastic and eager to have fun. I use mini-trampolines for the main cardio element in my classes along with some great music chosen mostly by them. Unfortunately they have had to listen to me singing along, but lately I have had to take a backward step and let them sing which has been magical.

Disability Action Yorkshire believe that everyone has the right to work but know that it can be difficult for many disabled people to gain paid employment. That's why they offer development in all the skills required for work along with key life skills. As a charity they deliver a wide range of programmes across many different areas providing qualifications and training bespoke to the each individual. I'd love to help them do more.
