Update 23 May 2011:

Well we have now done the 3 Peaks Challenge in 28hrs & 7secs! It was a very hard slog with miserable weather all the way up Ben Nevis and a lot of snow to slip and slide over to get to the very top where it was gusting at 30mph which nearly pushed us over a few times!

We started Ben Nevis @ 13:45 on the 21st May and completed it in 5 and a half hours which would of been at least 30mins sooner if my walking boots hadn't had a catastrophic failure half way up and half way down!

We got to the bottom of Scar Fell Pike @ 01:00 but due to the weather conditions at the tome we decided to sleep for an hour or so to see if the rain stopped luckily it did at 02:00, not long after we set off. We made it to the top after a number of consultations with the map and the GPS as in the dark we missed the path and were directionally challenge for a while, but we made it down ok, tired, sore and not particularly thrilled that we still had Snowdon to go but all in one piece which was the important bit!

We arrived at Snowdon @ 12:00 with little enthusiasm but decided we had to try and see how far we got. We made it to the top at a steady but slow pace while Dave’s dog (Bob) did the mountain at least 3 times! I have to say Snowdon was not fun or enjoyable in any way. The last 1/4 was very painful with multiple blisters on both feet and sore legs but once up you have to come back down! The most depressing part was watching all the other people over take us on the way down as if they were just on a morning stroll!

Although the challenge is now completed please don’t let that stop you from donating, if it helps I think I’ll be feeling the pain of it for a few days yet!

Anything you can give is appreciated as it all help.
