Vitality Bath Half Marathon 2017 · 12 March 2017 ·

The British Thyroid Foundation provides information and support to help people better understand and manage their condition. We also fund and support vital research into thyroid disease to improve treatments and outcomes for thyroid patients both now and in the future.

Story

On the 12th of March I will be running (likely walking/crawling) the Bath Half Marathon in aid of the British Thyroid Foundation. Contrary to popular belief/my model physique, my stubby legs weren't quite made for running long distances so for the entertainment factor alone, that should be worth a donation.

However, if my embarrassment doesn't appeal, you could do it to help a far more important cause: the British Thyroid Foundation (BTF). The charity aims to further understanding of the condition, fund research, and help those diagnosed with the disorder, many of whom must take lifelong medication. The condition is close to home with my wonderful mother sadly being one of these people, so supporting the cause would be fantastic way to help people in the same boat. Here's a link to the BTF's website, explaining the condition and their work: (worth taking 5 mins to do that even if you don't donate)
